This class will teach you the basic of knitting, you do not need any previous experience or knowledge to start knitting today! We go over choosing yarn, choosing needles, a few basic knitting terms, how to cast on, how to make a knit stitch, and how to cast off your project.
After this class, you’ll not only have a lovely knitted washcloth, you’ll also have the basic knitting skills needed to take on more challenging projects. Don’t worry, I’ll be here to teach you the basics and more!
Our project is a hand knitted washcloth. I love using these on my daughter during bath time!
Learning to knit is a fun and exciting process, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. The Carrot Top Living washcloth is a great pattern, to begin with for a couple reasons. First of all, a knit washcloth pattern is a quick and satisfying way to beginning knitters to gain confidence and accuracy. Secondly, the knit stitch is a basic stitch used in a variety of more complicated patterns, so mastering it is vital. The Carrot Top Living washcloth makes a great learning tool as well as a cute bathroom accessory.
You will need the following materials:
- skein of 100% cotton yarn
- knitting needles
